Xiaomi's Mi Air Charger Charges Devices Remotely- No Pads Needed

Xiaomi recently uncovered its new wireless charger capable of charging devices wirelessly and remotely. It can charge your devices by transmitting energy and signal into the air, and you don’t need any charging pad or cable to make it work. Nowadays, technology is evolving more than we can dream of. Xiaomi has declared a new wireless charger that can charge devices without any physical contact with them. All you need is to make sure that your smartphone is in the charger’s operational area. You don’t need wires or wireless charging pads to charge phones. Up till now, we possess wireless charging that uses a wireless charging pad and requires physical contact with the device. You had to put your phone on a charging pad in order to charge it wirelessly, which was no doubt the most disappointing thing about wireless charging.

However, this innovative charger can charge your devices even without physical contact. As long as you are nearby that wireless charger, your phone will charge efficiently without any problem. It uses two essential technologies to charge phones distantly; energy broadcast into the air and space positioning. Well, that sounds impressive, doesn’t it?

This wireless charger comes with 5 inbuilt phase interference antennas to recognize your smartphone and charge it from a distance. Besides, it also has 144 antennas that transfer energy waves directly to your phone through air. This is what you can call a genuine wireless mobile phone charger, as you don’t need to place your phone on a charging pad.

Technically, there is no significant difference in the wireless charging pad and charging cable since, in both methods, you need to place your phone physically in a particular spot.

Recently, the popular mobile manufacturing brand, Xiaomi, announced Mi Air Charger, an absolutely innovative gadget in the current market. The company hasn’t confirmed when they are going to launch this product. We also don’t have any information regarding what smartphones will be supported with this technology. As the charger uses totally innovative technology, it seems like there will be some new mobile phones for this technology. The mobile that will work with the charger will surely have some wireless energy receivers on them. It could be possible that the current wireless charging devices might also work with Mi Air Charger.

However, more chances are that there will be specific phones compatible with this charging system. The current wireless compatible phones are not capable of receiving truly wireless energy through the air. Xiaomi might launch some compatible smartphones that have a similar wireless charging system. Still, the company will have to shrink the size of this technology in order to fit it into standard smartphones.

Since this wireless charger has over 100 antennas inside it, it might be a challenge for the company to build a phone with the normal size having this technology. It could be possible that the wireless receiver for this charger might not be that bulky.

If you wish to charge a device using this charger, your device must be able to turn the mmWave signals from this charger into electrical energy. And for that, your phone must have a rectifier circuit. A rectifier circuit is used to convert the mmWave signal into electrical energy. The current smartphones don’t use this technology to charge wirelessly. So it is pretty much obvious that the company will provide compatible phones for this charger.

Presently, the company hasn’t confirmed when they are going to officially make this charger available, and until then, we may don’t get information regarding the compatible devices with the charger. We don’t even know how successful and efficient this charger will be in a practical test. The company currently claims that they have developed an absolute wireless charger, and it is working optimally.

This news seems pretty interesting, and you may have also liked this information. Xiaomi will hopefully reveal more information regarding this product soon, and we may also get to know about the supported smartphones.
